The Fender Professional P bass is one of those basses that needs no introduction. It's got the classic look and sound that can be heard on countless records since the 50s! With V-Mod pickups, a fantastic fret design, and a comfortable '63 neck for even better playing comfort. The Maple fretboard also gives you a bit more attack than Rosewood would. Not to mention the Posiflex Graphite Rods that reinforce the neck to avoid unwanted movement changing the action and feel of the bass. Professional The American Professional range has replaced the American Standards. Made in America with high-end hardware and each one comes with an Elite hardshell case. Pickups The V-Mod Precision pickups are classic-sounding Fender split-coil pickups that have high output with the vintage warmth and clarity that you want from a legendary bass! Neck Shape The neck shape is the '63 P Bass neck shape with a Satin back giving you a smooth fretting hand feel. '63 was considered the golden era for P Bass neck shapes and so this modern instrument gives you the feel of an old guitar, but with modern functionality and reliability. Frets The Narrow-Tall frets create more accurate intonation. They're taller than vintage frets but of similar width (rather than medium jumbo etc.) And because they’re slightly narrower, it gives the actually fret spacing a little more room. It’s an incremental change, but every little helps… Here's what Fender say about the P Bass Bass—it’s where rhythm meets melody, creating a righteous groove that forces you to move with it. Without the Fender Precision Bass, the original electric bass, dance floors everywhere would be empty. As music evolves, our instruments change in lockstep; the end result is today’s version of this seminal instrument—the American Professional Precision Bass. The Precision Bass was a truly revolutionary instrument when it was released in 1951. Not only could bassists finally play with perfect intonation, they could be heard along with the rest of the band. From funk to rock, hip-hop to reggae; all of the music that’s enriched our lives began with the thunderous Precision Bass. Developed by longtime bass pickup master Michael Bump, the brand-new V-Mod split-coil Precision Bass pickup uses a carefully selected blend of alnico magnet types for balanced tone with authentic Fender sonic DNA. The “golden” ’63 P Bass neck profile feels just right nestled in your hand, becoming one with you, while the narrow-tall frets provide a familiar playing feel and perfect intonation. Posiflex™ graphite support rods run the length of the neck, adding stability to the neck while resisting warping. The redesigned tuning machines use a fluted shaft, creating the optimum break angle over the nut while keeping the string windings tight for increased sustain and enhanced tuning stability. The best of yesterday and today, the American Professional Precision Bass is the latest form of electric inspiration from Fender. Step up and stake your claim to a legend.
